THE SHOWS:

6/18/11, Petaluma Center for the Arts, Petaluma, CA:

I'm Only Sleeping, Unbound, Wichita, Hungry Ghost, Moanin' Low, Walkin' Time Blues, Colors in You, Waiting for a Miracle, Children Go, What You're Hiding, The Loop, Standing on the Moon.

Encore: Give Peace a Loop.

From GB: This was the end of tour gig! Beautiful spot, right on the waterway that courses through Petaluma. Nice effort by everyone involved on sound and organization. I felt really on this night, despite some exhaustion creeping in...nice to see a few Deadheads in the crowd who appreciated Miracle and Standing on the Moon. Good hang on the deck afterwards...

--------

6/17/11, Flora Springs Winery, St. Helena, CA:

I: Dark and Cold, Lonely Journey, Walkin' Time Blues, When I Paint my Masterpiece, Another Hour to Kill, Thirteen, Hungry Ghost, Wichita, Light the Way, Waiting for a Miracle, Unbound

II: It Stoned Me, Rockin' in the Free World, Are You With Me, Hard Times, Moanin' Low, I'm Only Sleeping

III: Children Go, Give Peace a Loop, Cortez the Killer, High and Dry, Rock n' Roll, We Don't Dance, Friend of the Devil, Tomorrow Night, Blackbird>jam

From GB: Out on the porch of this tasting room right in the center of town. Nice folks wandering in and out all afternoon. Marathon three set gig. Opened up 'Lonely Journey' into a loop jam for the first time, as well as 'Blackbird'. Great wine was had.

----------

6/16/11, Stomp Wine Bar, Danville, CA:

I: Dark and Cold, Bay Rag, Broken Arrow, Waltz #2, Don't Give it Away, Will, Hard Times, Tonight I'll Be Staying Here with You, Be Love, Wichita

II: I'm Only Sleeping, Rock n' Roll, Blackhawk Stomp, Unbound, Another Hour to Kill

III: Thirteen, Blues for Scraps, The Loop, Rockin' in the Free World, China Cat Sunflower, It Stoned Me, Waiting for a Miracle, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, Norwegian Wood

From GB: My goal in the first set was to play only songs that hadn't made their way into the rotation thus far, except 'Wichita'...distracted by thin tone and a weak signal which I later discovered was dying batteries in my preamp...interesting outdoor gig as the crowd is totally different folks at the end than during first set.

----------

6/15/11, KPFA Studios, Berkeley, CA:

Walkin' Time Blues, I'm Only Sleeping, Rock n' Roll, Colors in You, The Loop, Standing on the Moon, Give Peace a Loop

From GB: Great to reconnect with Caroline Aiken, who shared the broadcast with me and host David Gans...had a nice studio audience show up which made the whole thing more dynamic...had major tech problems at start of the first hour which unnerved me for a song and a half...

-----------

6/12/11, Jones Street Yard Concerts, Ukiah, CA:

Unbound, Wichita, Colors in You, Another Hour to Kill, Walkin' Time Blues, Thirteen, Children Go, Rock n' Roll, Tomorrow Night, The Loop, Standing on the Moon.

From GB: We knew the trip from LA to Ukiah by 2pm was gonna be tight anyway, but were not anticipating two flat tires on the I-5! That sure sucked...somehow we managed to make it right and get there in time to play -- thanks to Dave Joseph for the driving and to Katherine Cole for filling in for me for a few tunes while we loaded in to the backyard!

------------

6/11/11, The Talking Stick, Los Angeles, CA:

Unbound, What You're Hiding, Colors in You, Are You With Me, The Loop, No Compass, Wichita, Moanin' Low, Give Peace a Loop.

From GB: I was in some kind of mood when we got down to LA. I just felt totally out of sorts and definitely non-musical. I took a walk around the outskirts of Venice and got my head straight for what turned out to be a really rewarding gig -- appreciative folks, all of whom seemed to be in the biz...funny how LA always lives up to it's rep that way.

-------------

6/10/11, Hopmonk Tavern, Sonoma, CA:

I: When I Paint my Masterpiece, Wichita, Unbound, Waiting for a Miracle, Colors in You, Another Hour to Kill, It Stoned Me, Walking Time Blues, Children Go, High and Dry

II: Rockin' in the Free World, The Loop, Standing on the Moon, We Don't Dance, Thirteen, Crazy Love, Give Peace a Loop

From GB: You wouldn't know it by looking at this set list, but this gig just felt like it went on and on...outdoors without any roof over the stage and this unrelenting sun beating down. Wow..I was literally and figuratively fried after this show.

--------------

6/9/11, Stomp Wine Bar, Danville, CA:

I: Let it Grow, It Stoned Me, Walking Time Blues, Lonely Journey, If You've Lost Your Way, Wichita, Tomorrow Night, You Ain't Goin Nowhere, Moanin' Low, Another Hour to Kill

II: Unbound, Waiting for a Miracle, Colors in You, I'm Only Sleeping, Thirteen, Crazy Love

III: High and Dry, Children Go, When I Paint my Masterpiece, Hungry Ghost, Jealous Guy, We Don't Dance, Believe Me, Rockin' in the Free World, The Loop, Standing on the Moon, I Know You Rider

From GB: Nice to have Clapton's 'Let it Grow' back in action..these longer shows make me more inclined to try out stuff I don't do often...'Rockin in the Free World" lived up to it's name on the de-tuned D28, my first time setting up a loop out of that tune, very cool.

-----------

6/5/11, Elkhorn Garden, Monterey, CA:

I: Let it Grow, Wichita, Unbound, Waiting for a Miracle, Colors in You, Rock n' Roll, It Stoned Me

II: Children Go, Walking Time Blues, I'm Only Sleeping, Lonely Journey, Another Hour to Kill, The Loop, Standing on the Moon

From GB: A gorgeous setting and not bad sound either. Very nice folks who built a stage in the their flower farm outside of Monterey. Audience either on a terrace or on blankets on the hillside. Mid tour brain freeze in full effect as I left all my personal belongings behind...or was it the wine?

------------

6/4/11, Divided Sky, South Lake Tahoe, CA:

Wichita, Dark and Cold, Hungry Ghost, Another Hour to Kill, Jealous Guy, Unbound, I'm Only Sleeping, Thirteen, Walking Time Blues, Children Go, Colors in You, Tomorrow Night

From GB: I could see this being a happening place to play during ski season or maybe when Phish pulls through town, but it was not too happening on this night. Thanks JJ Cady for helping put it together, though, and good to hear him play again. But it was one of those gigs where people at the bar remain seated with their backs to you no matter what you do...

--------------

6/2/11, Hotel Utah, San Francisco, CA:

Unbound, Colors in You, Rock n Roll, Moanin' Low, Wichita, What You're Hiding

6/1/11, Fairfax Farmers Market, Fairfax, CA:

No List Available...

From GB: Another long lazy afternoon in NorCal! Quintessential Marin town..I've always loved Fairfax. Good to see old friends, and just pick randomly from the repertoire...thus, no list. I do remember doing "Broken Arrow" for the first time in a while..some dude came up and said 'Man, that dragged me back!"

--------------

5/28/11, Axe and Fiddle, Cottage Grove, OR:

Moanin' Low, No Compass, Wichita, Colors in You, Thirteen, What You're Hiding, Rock n' Roll, Children Go, Snakes in the Woodpile, The Loop, Standing on the Moon

From GB: Rustic town, rustic room..all wood, nice sound. Engineer with sense of humor. A few old friends surfaced. Video also turned up on youtube from this gig. Afternoon hike with Jules by the lake, fleabag motel. Would love to come back here.

I: Dark and Cold, Moanin' Low, No Compass, Wichita, Walking Time Blues, Colors in You, Are You With Me, Another Hour to Kill, I'm Only Sleeping, Tomorrow Night

II: Be Love, Thirteen, Hungry Ghost, Lonely Journey, Waiting for a Miracle, Rock n' Roll, Snakes in the Woodpile, The Loop, Standing on the Moon

From GB: Great to be back with the Brandborg's after several years! Excellent hospitality (room and board, wine, etc). Great group of local folks who are all hard workers so a bit tired but we brought 'em back to life...traded some CDs for an excellent breakfast across the street in AM!

---------------

5/26/11, Goodfoot Lounge, Portland, OR:

Moanin' Low, Wichita, Colors in You, Rock n' Roll, What You're Hiding, Thirteen, The Loop, Standing on the Moon

From GB: My first road gig after the two splendid CD release shows in NY and SF..Julian Hockings came along for the ride and to help with CDs etc. I heard later from the booker that they really dug the show but it wasn't too gratifying at the time..what I'd calla 'working' gig...still I tried o do my best for my peeps from Portlandia.

---------------

5/21/11, Chauncey's Palace, Berkeley, CA:

Moanin' Low, Unbound, Walking Time Blues, Hard Times

From GB: I was majorly toasty for this show at my friend Michelle's house in Berkeley but still managed this short solo set, followed by playing two hours of GD music with new friends. Actually felt very expressive and free during my set. Love living room shows!

----------------

5/20/11, Swedish American Hall, San Francisco, CA:

Moanin' Low, No Compass, Rock n' Roll*, Walking Time Blues*, Are You With Me*, Colors in You, Snakes in the Woodpile>The Loop, Believe Me, If You've Lost Your Way, Wichita, Thirteen, What You're Hiding, High and Dry**, Give Peace a Loop

Encore: Standing on the Moon

*with Heather Combs, vocals

**with Sam Flot, poem

From GB: An indisputable highlight of my life, this show. Felt like a great culmination of not only the work on Wave Organ Song but of years of touring and building relationships and refining what I do. Heather opened and set up the night so well...hard to summarize, so many folks from different walks of life, gorgeous space, real cooperation by all involved. Thanks Michael, Chris, Jason, Dave, Josh, Joey, Ryan, Sam, Paul, Brenda, PAWS, the list goes on!!

*with Claudia Thompson, vocals

From GB: What a relief to be walking on stage at this well attended gig and finally be playing some music, not just talking about it, publicizing it, duplicating it, distributing it, but playing it! Family, friends, new and old...my sister Claudia on harmony vocals, a great night!
